Comfort and Healing From The Book of Psalms

The Psalms are quoted more often in the New Testament than any other book found in the Old Testament. They were written over a span of approximately one thousand years with the earliest one (Psalm 90) attributed to Moses in the 15th century B.C. Nevertheless, their message of comfort and healing is as pertinent in the 21st century as if they were written today. The following Psalms were put together as a reminder that, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” (Psalm 46:1)

Psalm 73:26

 “My flesh and my heart fail;

But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.”

Psalm 119:50

 This is my comfort in my affliction,

For Your word has given me life.

Psalm 147:3

 “He heals the brokenhearted

And binds up their wounds.”

Psalm 22:24

“ For He has not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted;

Nor has He hidden His face from Him; But when He cried to Him, He heard.”

Psalm 37:24

“ Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down;

For the Lord upholds him with His hand.”

Psalm 27:14

 “Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage,

And He shall strengthen your heart;Wait, I say, on the Lord!”

Psalm 18:2

 “The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer;

My God, my strength, in whom I will trust…”

Psalm 30:5(b)

 “Weeping may endure for a night,

But joy comes in the morning.”

May the comfort and peace of God be with you always.
