Paulina Rael Jaramillo, M.A.

Masters of Arts Degree, Rehabilitation Counseling

Paulina Rael Jaramillo has a Master of Arts degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from CSUSB and is registered with the Board of Behavioral Science as an LPC Intern. She has worked with families and youth in various capacities including crisis intervention. Her hands-on experience has given her valuable insight into the damaging effects of trauma resulting from loss, and the importance of dealing with negative emotions in order to move forward.

She began her writing career in 1991 as a contributing writer for a regional newspaper and later as a freelance writer for national publications. She has contributed to nine inspirational books published by Starburst Publishers and Bethany House and co-authored a one-act play. In 2010, she began writing for Ezine Articles and has achieved Platinum status.

The loss of eight family members during the past few years inspired her to write two books dealing with grief recovery resulting from any type of loss (e.g. employment, foreclosure, divorce, bereavement, etc). A Time to Heal: Grief Recovery Guide and Workbook was published in 2009 and a follow up book, Life Interrupted: Grief Recovery Guide and Workbook was published in 2010. She served as the Grief Group Facilitator at her church for several years and currently conducts ongoing grief recovery workshops based on her books.

Her most recent book, The Littlest Chef: Fun and Healthy Recipes for Children (2015), was inspired by her hands-on cooking experiences with her grand daughters. The Littlest Chef contains healthy alternatives to common food ingredients, interesting food facts and dozens of fun and easy-to-make recipes. The book appeals to children, parents, grandparents, schools, pediatricians, children’s health advocates and many others.

Paulina is a popular and versatile speaker and has spoken at various venues including colleges and universities. Some of her topics include: Health and Wellness, Healing From Loss, Writing Non-Fiction, Introduction to Writing, etc. She also conducts Healing From Loss workshops.
